1953-2023: experience the 70th anniversary of this prestigious event
Make the most of your stay at Le Yaca Saint-Tropez to admire one of the most prestigious events of the year: the Rolex Giraglia.
Originally created in 1952 by two Italians and a Frenchman whose goal was to offer the world the most prestigious of sail races, La Giraglia has kept all its promises year after year.
The first race in 1953 brought together 22 boats. 20 years later, 132 boats met at the start of the biggest race off the Mediterranean.
Today, more than 200 boats take part in the Giraglia Rolex Cup, through a race and 3 days of regattas, representing more than 10 different countries.
The program :
- Friday, 9th to Saturday 10th June: departure from San Remo at midnight and arrival in Saint-Tropez
- Sunday 11, Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 June: coastal regattas in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, where everyone can admire these boats from different horizons
- Wednesday June 14: start of the last race off St-Tropez towards Genoa, passing by the Giraglia rock (north of Corsica).
Since 2011, the 52 Super Series have established themselves as the most beautiful monohull circuit in the world.
This event brings together a dozen teams of several different nationalities.
These teams will compete in 2023 during 5 spectacular regattas, in France, Italy and Spain, from May to September.
The first regatta will therefore take place in Saint-Tropez, from 2nd to 7th May 2023 during 10 races to be admired from the side.
These monohull boats are among the most efficient in terms of power and speed, making the 52 Super Series the Formula 1 of nautical circuits.
The flexibility of the rules of this competition allows designers to use great freedom to improve the performance of the boats, unlike more traditional regattas.
This unique event is therefore the ideal opportunity for a stay in Saint-Tropez. You will thus appreciate the village, its beaches, its shops and its restaurants, before the madness of the high season.
